A positive outcome in Sever do Vouga: Vouga Sport Clube highlights the impact of Round #4

“The Rally Series was a winning bet for Sever do Vouga, bringing fans, drivers, and the community closer together,” was how Mário Martins, president of Vouga Sport Clube, described Round #4.

Vouga Sport Clube made a very positive assessment of Round #4 of the Portugal Rally Series, held in Sever do Vouga. For Mário Martins, the club’s president, the municipality’s debut on the championship calendar “exceeded the expectations of both the club and the Municipal Council.” and gave clear signs that this could be a project with continuity.

Um dos aspetos mais elogiados pela organização local foi a forma como o formato Rally Series permitiu aproximar público e classificativas.

“The advantage of having the Arena close to the external stage is that it allows the audience to move between the two areas without long distances or access barriers. That was a key highlight and greatly enhanced the experience for those who came to watch.”he emphasized.

For the Sever do Vouga community, hosting the event was equally significant. “It’s very important for us. We have some history in motorsport, especially in Rallycross and Rally de Portugal, but we wanted to bring in new formats. The Rally Series was a winning bet, also thanks to the promotional side beyond the competition — the autograph session and the dynamic presentation were excellent innovations.”he added.

The official also gave hints about the future. According to Mário Martins, Vouga Sport Clube is looking to collaborate again in 2026: “As far as the club is concerned, we’ll work together again, of course in collaboration with the Municipal Council.”As for future developments, there are already ideas on the table: “We’d like to discuss the possibility of running the course on gravel, using a section that was also part of Rally de Portugal. Another option is to involve more neighboring municipalities that have shown interest in collaborating with us and with the Rally Series.”

Finally, Mário Martins highlighted the distinctive role of the model implemented. “The Rally Series is the future of rallying. In a single weekend, we manage to condense what in traditional rallies usually takes three or four days. It’s a format with several key advantages, including cost control — both for organizers and drivers. One cannot exist without the other, and here we’ve managed to find that balance.”
